CRA EVENT HIGHLIGHTS

October 9-10: Colorado Restaurant Show - stay tuned. Our Keynote Speaker will be announced Friday!

PAC AT THE OPERA HOUSE DINNER AUG 15

Please join us August 15 for our annual “Night at the Opera House” dinner to raise money for the Restaurant PAC. This is a political action committee which supports pro-industry and pro-business congressional candidates for federal office. This event always impresses with several chefs from area restaurants providing an amazing tasting meal along with specially paired wines. This is your opportunity to meet face-to-face with your Colorado Congressional members, they have all been invited to speak. Also, guests from the National Restaurant Association will be there discuss the current federal political climate and the issues we are actively engaged in that directly impact restaurants. RSVP to Nina Whyte, nwhyte@corestaurant.org or 303-830-2972.

COLORADO RESTAURANT FOUNDATION LAUNCHES APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM FOR RESTAURANT MANAGERS

The Colorado Restaurant Foundation is proud to be one of the few states selected to implement this new program launched through a partnership with the National Restaurant Association Education Foundation. The Hospitality Sector Registered Apprenticeship (HSRA) is the industry’s first-ever earn-while-you-learn apprenticeship program, and is approved by the U.S. Department of Labor.  The HSRA aims to create career opportunities for the restaurant, foodservice and hospitality workforce. Colorado Restaurant Foundation President Mary Mino states, “We strongly believe that given the employee shortage situation in this state and across the country, this new Registered Apprenticeship program will have a powerful impact on professionalizing the industry through employee recruitment and retention.” If you’re interested in learning more about getting involved with the apprenticeship program, contact the CRF. 303-830-2972, mmino@corestaurant.org.
