The Angel Relief Fund

The Colorado Restaurant Foundation wants to express our concern for the situation faced by so many in our restaurant and hospitality community due to the Covid-19 pandemic. We are working to support you, your restaurant, and hospitality workers with financial assistance and access to a hub of support services that provide Federal, State, and Community resources for housing, transportation, mental health, medical, child care assistance support and more.

We also understand that we are a safety net for those workers who are employed and who are experiencing general hardship, and we will continue to provide financial assistance (up to $1,000) to those in crisis due to an unexpected illness, injury or natural disaster (including COVID-19).

Denver Restaurant and Hotel Employees - Emergency Assistance Grant Application

CRF's Angel Relief Fund offers emergency assistance to Colorado hospitality employees facing an unanticipated hardship. This specific grant was created to support Denver residents currently or previously employed in a Colorado restaurant or hotel for at least 90 days who are currently unemployed or underemployed due to the COVID-19 pandemic or have experienced other negative economic impacts due to the COVID-19 pandemic. CRF provides emergency assistance fund grants up to $500 for those that are unemployed or underemployed and $1,000 to those that have been diagnosed with COVID-19. Note: Assistance shall be provided to eligible applicants regardless of the immigration status of the applicant. No identifying personal information will be given to the City of Denver for reporting or any other purpose.

Eligibility criteria for grant funds are as follows:

  • Must be a current resident of Denver.
  • Recipients must be currently employed or must have been previously employed by a restaurant or hotel for at least 90 (ninety) days since January 2020 and lost or reduced such employment due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • No recipient shall receive more than a total of $1,000 in CRF Angel relief grant funds during the 2021 calendar year.
  • Note: While recipients must reside in Denver, the restaurant or hotel that employs or employed them does NOT need to be located in Denver.

Types of expenses we cover: 
  • Rent or mortgage
  • Utilities (water, gas, electric, sewer)
  • Food
  • Health care
  • Transportation
  • Child care
  • Other basic, pressing needs

Expenses we DO NOT cover:
  • Recreational expenses
  • Loan payments

Empleados de restaurantes y hoteles de Denver: solicitud de una subvención de asistencia de emergencia

El Fondo de Ayuda Angel (Angel Relief Fund) de la Fundación de Restaurantes de Colorado (CRF, por sus siglas en inglés) ofrece asistencia de emergencia para los empleados del sector de la hospitalidad de Colorado que están enfrentando dificultades imprevistas. Esta subvención específica fue creada para apoyar a los habitantes de Denver que se han desempeñado como empleados de un restaurante u hotel de Colorado por al menos 90 días, ya sea en la actualidad o anteriormente, y que en este momento se encuentran desempleados o subempleados o que han sufrido otros impactos económicos negativos debido a la pandemia del COVID-19. CRF proporciona fondos de subvenciones de asistencia de emergencia de hasta $500 para las personas desempleadas o subempleadas y de hasta $1,000 para aquellas que han sido diagnosticadas con el COVID-19. Nota: se le proporcionará asistencia a los solicitantes que cumplan con los requisitos independientemente de su estado migratorio. • lives in the state of Colorado and is facing an unanticipated hardship (within the past 6 months) 
• has worked at current employer 90 days + (considerations may be given from previous employer) 
• encounters an emergency that’s unexpected, unforeseen, non-recurring crisis 

TYPES OF ELIGIBLE HARDSHIPS
     Unanticipated hardship that fits into one of the following categories: 

• Injury: slip, fall, crash and work or home 
• Illness: sickness causing a worker to miss work 
• Death: of an immediate family member imposing a financial burden on the worker 
• Disaster: flood, fire, COVID-19, storm damage disruption of a worker’s job, and other natural disasters
