Happy Colorado Day! Tomorrow, August 1st.
As of Monday, July 1, vaping has been prohibited indoors in most public places in Colorado. The new law aligns smoking and vaping by adding vaping to the Colorado Clean Indoor Air Act. This 2006 law already prohibited smoking indoors in most public places.
The updated law also requires those smoking or vaping stand at least 25 feet away from the main entrance. This is an increase from the previous setback of 15 feet unless local governments have codified a lesser perimeter as of January 1, 2019. Local governments and businesses can also choose to do more, such as:- Make dining patios, rear entrances or other outdoor settings smoke-free.

The U.S. Department of Justice is considering getting rid of the safeguards —embodied in “consent decrees”—that protect your establishment from being subjected to anti-competitive behavior at the hands of the two largest music licensors, ASCAP and BMI. Without the benefit of these settlement agreements, music licensing will become even more complicated and costly than it already is.
Last week we told you about the new guidelines for restaurants seeking a variance to allow dogs on patios. Several folks had trouble with the link stating the criteria necessary.
