Today, January 9, 2023, the 74th General Assembly of Colorado convened for the first regular legislative session. This session brings many new faces to both chambers — and in leadership — as a result of 2021 redistricting and the November 2022 election. Of the 100 lawmakers in the Colorado General Assembly, 43 were new to their chamber when they were sworn in today, including 32 who have never served in the legislature. Women will make up fifty percent of the General Assembly this legislative session, with 50 of the 100 members.

It’s crucially important that local restaurant industry owners and operators get to know your elected officials, who will be working on legislation over the next several months that will impact your business for years to come.

To find out who your local legislators are, use the legislator finder on the Colorado General Assembly website.

You can also use the 2023 CO General Assembly Photo Directory the CRA created so you can put faces to names.
