Adversity puts our values to the test—individuals and organizations alike. For SpotOn, an innovative restaurant point-of-sale and software company, the pandemic was a critical juncture that had a huge impact on not only their own business but also the livelihoods of many Colorado restaurants, bars, and workers. When faced with the prospect of cutting their losses as restaurants were forced to close in early 2020, they instead doubled down on their commitment to empower Colorado businesses.

SpotOn’s efforts began with an all-hands-on-deck approach to help restaurants quickly transition to online ordering in order to sustain business with takeout and delivery. By leveraging their easy-to-use software and hands-on team of account representatives who provide local, personalized support, SpotOn was able to help restaurants and bars get back up and running in no time. In addition to online ordering, they quickly rolled out innovative solutions to help restaurants comply with contact tracing for Colorado’s 5-Star Certification program, manage capacity restrictions, and drastically reduce costs with commission-free local delivery.

It was always about more than just implementing innovative restaurant tech, however. It was also about building meaningful and long-lasting relationships with the Colorado restaurant community.

“Local restaurants and small businesses are the heart of what we do, and we understand the incredibly important role they play in communities,” explains Zach Hyman, co-CEO of SpotOn.

In March of 2021, SpotOn launched a movement called “To Denver, With Love,” giving community members a simple way to support Denver-area restaurants, bars, and workers that have been impacted by the pandemic. The campaign is helping raise funds for the Colorado Restaurant Foundation’s Angel Relief Fund by selling stylish merchandise and encouraging people to share photos of their favorite Denver restaurants and bars to a Living Love Wall.

“Denver is special because of its vibrant small business community and entrepreneurial spirit,” says Zach Hyman. “Nowhere is that spirit more evident than in Denver’s gathering places—from fine dining establishments to casual eateries, from breweries to nightclubs and sports bars. We wanted to not only show our appreciation for the important role they play in the community, but also support them in meaningful ways that will truly make an impact.”

All proceeds from merchandise sales go directly to the Angel Relief Fund to support restaurant workers who have been adversely impacted by the pandemic. Additionally, SpotOn is donating $3.03 to the fund for every photo submission, and donating money directly to restaurants that are tagged on Facebook and Instagram.
